Abstract:

In this study, the International Student Assessment Program (PISA) is aimed at studying the similar and different aspects of the achievements of understanding that Canada and South Korea are the countries that have achieved success in the field of reading skills and can continue the achievements they have achieved.  The data included in the study were obtained from the 2019 Primary Turkish Teaching Teaching Program (Primary and High School 1-8 classes), 2006 Canada Ontario State Main Language Teaching Program and 2007 South Korean Main Language Teaching Program. The study found similarities and differences between the achievements of understanding that they read between countries. The achievements of understanding that the three countries read are similar in terms of student-centered expression. Turkey and Canada Ontario Mother Language Teaching Programs read skills in their achievements are discussed under a separate title while the achievements indicated in the South Korean Mother Language Teaching Programs are not discussed under a separate title.  Canada's Ontario Mother Language Teaching Program has established that the achievements of the Ontario Mother Language Teaching Program have emphasized different cultures and have guiding expressions to teachers. In addition, it has been determined that the achievements of understanding that you read in the Turkish Mother Language Teaching Programme include the achievements of linguistic knowledge, while the achievements of the achievements are determined as in the Canada Programme. The study, as a result of the study of Canada's Ontario and South Korean Mother Language Teaching Programs, has made recommendations to contribute to the development of the mother language teaching program that will be conducted in Turkey.
