Sosyal medya sunduğu içerik paylaşma olanağıyla kullanıcılarına adeta bir muhabir olma imkânı tanıdığı gibi ulusal basın kuruluşlarında kendilerine yer bulamayan sıradan insanların da görüşlerini aktarabildiği bir platform olma özelliği taşımaktadır. Sosyal medya bu yönüyle daha demokratik bir ortam görünümü sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada da 31 Mart 2019 Yerel Seçimlerinde YouTube’da halkın görüşlerini aktarmayı esas alan kanalları ve bu kanalların içeriklerini ele alınmaktadır. Çalışma sonucunda YouTube’daki içeriklerde farklı bölgelerden, farklı görüşten birçok sıradan insanın görüşlerine yer verildiği görülmüştür. Ayrıca incelemesi yapılan kanallarda birçok içeriğin paylaşıldığı ve bu içeriklerin ciddi izlenme rakamlarına ulaştığı saptanmıştır. İçerikler önemli beğenme/beğenmeme rakamlarına ulaştığı gibi içeriklerle ilgili birçok yorum da yapılmıştır. Bu yorumlarda bir yandan içerikler değerlendirilirken bir yandan da görüş ve kanaatler ifade edilmektedir. Dolayısıyla bu çalışmada YouTube’un sıradan insanların görünür hale geldiği ve ulusal basın yayın kuruluşlarına ciddi bir alternatif medya olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The social media offers the possibility of sharing content and recognizes the possibility of being a reporter to its users, as it has the feature of being a platform where ordinary people who cannot find their place in national press organizations can also transmit their opinions. Social media offers a more democratic view of the environment in this regard. This study also discusses the channels and the contents of these channels based on the broadcast of public opinions on YouTube at the local elections of 31 March 2019. The study found that the content on YouTube included the views of many ordinary people from different regions, from different views. It also found that many content was shared in the channels that were reviewed and that these content reached serious tracking numbers. There are a lot of comments about the content, as the content has reached important likes/like numbers. In these words, on the one hand, the contents are assessed, and on the other hand, the opinions and opinions are expressed. Therefore, this study has concluded that YouTube has become visible to ordinary people and is a serious alternative media for national press broadcasters.
