Abstract:

The general purpose of this research is to study the innovation management skills of school managers. The sample of this study, which uses the visual scan model, consists of 476 teachers who worked in the public schools in the Kahramanmaraş or Dulkadiroğlu and Onikişubat district in the 2016-2017 teaching year, 205 who worked in the private school, a total of 681 teachers. The study used the "Innovation Management Scale in Schools" developed by Bulbul (2012a) to study the personal information form and managers' innovation management skills. According to the study, while teachers in public and private schools see school managers’ innovation management skills at the level “I agree very much”, the average score of private school managers was higher than the average score received by school managers in public schools. The opinions of teachers working in public schools and private schools on the skills of school managers in innovation management have been studied in terms of demographic variables and, taking into account the overall scale score, there have been significant differences in variables such as gender, age, professional age, school level.
