In terms of production planning and power systems management, the electricity that will be produced from wind energy systems must be predicted for certain periods. In this context, many different wind speed cuts approaches have been suggested to be accurately predicted for wind speed data in an asymmetric and unstable structure. In the framework of this study, short-term (1 hour) wind speed forecast models have been developed using an adapted nervous fool output system (ANFIS) optimized by the differential development algorithm (DE) approach. In the method addressed in the study, the model parameters using the intuitive approach to differential development were determined and comparative analyzed for the short-term wind speed forecast. Wind speed series have been used in a observation station located in Bilecik province to verify performance criteria in the estimated approach. The intuitive algorithm used in the optimization of the ANFIS model parameters is run independently 10 times repeated and the training-test performance results are presented statistically. The performance of the suggested hybrid model is also interpreted by comparing the well-known Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm in literature with the advanced nutritional artificial nerve network (ANN) results.
The electrical energy to be produced from wind energy systems should be estimated for some periods in order to generation planning and power systems management. In this context, many different wind speed forecasting approaches have been proposed for accurate estimation of asymmetric and unstable wind speed data. In this paper, short-term (1h) wind speed forecasting models have been developed by using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) based on Differential Evolution Algorithm (DE). In this paper, the model parameters have been determined by differential evolution heuristic approach for short-term wind speed forecasting and analyzed comparatively. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, wind speed series collected from a wind observation station located in Bilecik, Turkey are used in the short-term wind speed forecasting. The meta-heuristic algorithm used in the optimization of ANFIS model parameters are run 10 times independently and the performance results are calculated statistically for training and test phases of ANFIS model. The performances of proposed hybrid models are also compared with the well-known feed forward ANN model which is trained by Levenberg-Marquardt in the literature.
