Abstract:

The drawing models, based on the 1950s, were first used in modeling the volume of trade between countries, while later began to be used to predict the tourism demand due to the capital flow between countries, migration and the tourist flow that is the subject of this study. The tourism sector has come to the top of the sectors that have contributed to the country’s economies in recent years, and is very influenced by changes and transformations in the world economy as in other economic sectors.  This study aims to estimate the tourism demand determiners of the world’s top 11 countries that attract the most tourists for the period covering the 2008-2016 years with the help of the panel drawing model. The findings have shown that the distance between the countries, which is an appropriate indicator for the economic strength of the countries and transportation costs, is important in tourism demand. In some countries, it has also shown that the exchange rate, the temperature difference between the countries and the spoken language also affect the tourism demand.
