Öz: Kürk Mantolu Madonna’da toplumsal cinsiyet normları tarafından belirlenen kalıplaşmış davranış biçimlerine karşı eleştirel bir tutum benimsendiği görülür. Romanda, verili toplumsal cinsiyet konumları sorunsallaştırılarak eril iktidarın hem kadını hem de erkeği belirli sınırlar içinde yaşamak zorunda bırakan güçlü konumu eleştirilir. Eril iktidar ve eril iktidarın biçimlendirdiği kadın-erkek ilişkilerinin sorgulandığı romanda eril iktidarın sadece kadınlar ve erkekler üzerindeki etkilerine değil toplumsal yapılar üzerindeki etkilerine de yer verilir. Toplumsal yaşamda eril iktidarın en önemli temsil alanlarından biri olan baba ve oğul arasındaki ilişkinin yansımalarından hareketle aile içi ilişkilerin dahi toplumsal normlar tarafından yapılandırılması üzerinde durulur. Eril iktidarın yansımalarının merkeze alınarak irdelendiği bu çalışmada romanın yazıldığı dönemin toplumsal cinsiyet algısına eleştirel bir tutumla yaklaşıldığı görülür. Romanda, erkeklere dayatılan bir toplumsal cinsiyet konumu olarak erkekliğin problemli yapısı üzerinde durularak dönemin toplumsal yapısı ve bu toplumsal yapı içinde erkeğin yeri sorgulanır. Eril iktidarın toplumsal ve kültürel inşa süreçlerinin bir sonucu olduğu düşüncesinden hareketle romanda erkekliğin inşa edilmesinde hangi etkenlerin belirleyici olduğu üzerinde durulmuştur. Eril iktidarın temsil edilemeyişiyle yaşanan erkeklik krizi, kadınsılaşma endişesi karşısında erkeklere dayatılan bir konum olarak erkeklik gibi meseleler sorunsallaştırılarak eril iktidarın erkekler üzerindeki yıkıcı etkisine yer verilmiştir. In Madonna's Skin Mantle, it appears that a critical attitude is adopted against the shaped behavior defined by the social gender standards. The novel criticizes the strong position of the eril power that makes both the woman and the man forced to live within certain limits by problematizing the given social sex positions. The novel questioning the relationships between women and men formed by the Eril power and the Eril power is not only the effects of the Eril power on women and men, but also the effects on social structures. In the social life, the reflection of the relationship between the father and the son, which is one of the most important representative areas of power, focuses on the structure of even family relations by social norms. In this study, where the reflection of Eril power is focused on the center, it is seen that the novel was approached with a critical attitude to the social gender perception of the time in which it was written. The novel, based on the problematic structure of mankind as a social gender position imposed on men, questiones the social structure of the period and the place of the man in this social structure. From the idea that the power of Eril is a result of the social and cultural construction processes, the novel focuses on what factors are determining in the construction of mankind. The male crisis, which has been experienced by the non-representation of the Eril power, is a position imposed on men in the face of feminization concerns and issues such as masculinity are problematized by the devastating effect of the eril power on men. Abstract: The novel Madonna in a Fur Coat exhibited a critical attitude towards stereotyped behaviors determined by gender norms. In the novel, gender positions are problematized, criticizing the strong position of masculine power that forced both men and women to live within certain limitations. The novel which challenges masculine power shaping gender relations, criticizes not only their impact upon women and men but also its sway upon social structures. Based on the relationship between father and son, one of the most important representations of masculine power, the novel focuses on the construction by social norms of domestic relations. This study concentrates on the centrality of reflections of masculine power in the novel and the critical attitude of the era towards gender perception. The novel centralizes the problematic structure of masculinity imposed upon men as a gender code and questions the position of male in the contemporary social structure. Building on the idea that masculine power is the result of social and cultural construction processes, it emphasized the factors that are decisive in the construction of masculinity in the novel. The work problematized issues such as the crisis of masculinity experienced by the inability to represent the masculine power and masculinity as a position imposed on men with the anxiety of being feminized; and it discussed the destructive effect of masculine power on men.
