Abstract:

Introduction and Objective: This study was conducted in order to determine the perceptions of the nurses working in a university hospital about the working environment. Method and Requirements: The universe of this research, which is of a characteristic quality, was formed by 853 nurses working in a university hospital. The study included 598 nurses who agreed to participate in the study. The participation rate in the study is 70.10%. Data is collected with the Personal Information Form, Nursing Work Index-Nursing Work Environment Assessment Scale. The one-way ANOVA, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were also used to assess the difference between frequency, arithmetic average, standard deviation, and independent variables in the assessment of data, and the Tukey HSD test and the Benferonni Corrected Mann Whitney U test were also used to determine which group the difference was derived from. Results: The work environment scale score average was 2,56±0,57. The perception of nurses' working environment is determined by the age of nurses, the civil status, the level of education, the time of work in the institution, the time of professional experience, the position and the unit employed. RELATED AND RESULTATED: In this study, the nurses found that they assessed the working environment at a medium level. The perception of the nurses' working environment: age, civic status, education level, time of work in the institution, time of professional experience, the state of management tasks and the impact of the units employed.
