Abstract:

This study aimed at determining the level of safety at work and related factors in health workers. In a diagnostic type study, the sample consisted of 138 health workers. In the data collection, the information form and the safety scale for the health staff working in the hospital were used. Data analysis used tests such as number, percentage and frequency, one-way variance analysis and Pearson correlation analysis. The statistical significance is p<0.05 . The average age of the survey participants is 41.27±11.63 (min.22-mak.63) years, with 62.3% women and 82.6% married. According to the report, 57.2% of participants were nurses, 33.3% worked in the clinic and 88.4% perceived their income at a medium level. The total scale of participants is 154.43±13.75 (min. 122-Mac.192) and Cronbach's Alpha value was determined as 0.891 (Table 3). There is no meaningful relationship between the participant’s socio-demographic-professional characteristics, years of work and scale points. In the institution, there was a significant difference in those who realized the presence of the committee on employee safety. In this study, it was determined that health workers’ work safety levels were sufficient. At the same time, it was found that in employees who are aware of the safety committee working in the institution, the work safety levels were higher. It is considered to be important to provide awareness about health workers’ safety in practices and training.
