Abstract:

One of the most important names of Turkish literature, Tevfik Fikret (1867-1915), was referred to as the poet of the Period of the Fünûn, but also in the genus of works. From the early age, Fikret began writing poems, and, in addition to his poet’s identity, from 1894 to 1899, he wrote in the Malumat, Maarif, Servet-i Fünûn and Century magazines works in the type of story. It is important that the work of Tevfik Fikret, which is in the forefront of poetry, be examined as a whole in order to be able to assess the place of Tevfik Fikret in literary history. In the framework of his work in the field of the generation, the study of his members, literature and language writings, will keep the artist in the way to fully understand. In this article, the works written by Tevfik Fikret in the story type will be studied technically and thematically, the problems he dealt with as an artist and the identity of the artist will be approached through the story type. The influence of Tevfik Fikret on the stories of his life will be assessed along with his discrepancies. In addition to this, the thematic dimension of the relationship between the poems and stories of Tevfik Fikret will also be discussed. In this way, it will be focused on the appearance of a different literary kind of context that feeds his poetry in the evaluation of the stories of Tevfik Fikret.

Tevfik Fikret (1867-1915), one of the most important names of Turkish literature, is known as the poet of the Servet-i Fünûn period, but also wrote works in prose genre. Fikret, who started to write poems at an early age, apart from his poet identity, he also wrote stories in the magazines Malumat, Maarif, Servet-i Fünûn and Asır between 1894-1899. In order to evaluate the place of Tevfik Fikret, who is in the foreground with his poetry, in the history of literature, it is important to examine his works as a whole. Within the scope of his works in the field of prose, the examination of his stories besides his prose, literature and language writings will shed light on the way to fully understand the artist. In this article, Tevfik Fikret's works written in the story genre will be examined technically and thematically, and the problematic he deals with as an artist and his artist identity will be approached through the story genre. The impact of Tevfik Fikret's life on his stories will be evaluated together with his reflections. In addition to these, the thematic dimension of the relationship between Tevfik Fikret's poems and his stories will also be discussed. In this way, it will be emphasized that a different literary genre context that feeds his poetry has emerged in the evaluation of Tevfik Fikret's stories.
