Abstract:

Communication between speakers of different cultures is possible provided that the nationally determined characteristics of a foreign language are understood, including those linguistic units that determine the cultural code of a given culture. Language is a unique world between man and nature, but due to differences, the linguistic world of each nation is different. Linguistic and cultural theories explain the relationship between language and culture. In the context of globalization, exchanges between different ethnic groups have gradually deepened and intercultural communication has gained importance. The aim of the research is to explore the common features and differences between Russian and Chinese national cultural concepts «family» from the point of view of linguistic and culturological analysis. In this work, the concept of «family» is considered as a key concept in Russian and Chinese linguistics. The study defines the similarity and discrepancies, which are determined by the national cultural specificity of this concept.
