Atasözü ve deyimler sözlü kültür içerisinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Klâsik Türk şiirinin ilk dönemlerinden başlamak üzere farklı yüzyıllarda özellikle Mahallileşme akımı etkisindeki şairlerin şiirlerinde atasözü ve deyim örnekleriyle çokça karşılaşılır. Deyimler, beyitlerde genellikle mecaz-ı mürsel ve kinaye sanatıyla kullanılır. Bunun yanında diğer kelimelerle de anlam ilgisi oluşturacak şekilde yer alır. Atasözü ve deyimler divan şiirini zenginleştiren ve çeşni katan ögelerdir. XVI. yüzyıl Klâsik Türk Edebiyatı’nın en önemli şairlerinden olan Bâkî’nin şiirlerinde atasözü ve deyimlerin tespiti, şairin şiirini zenginleştiren unsurların belirlenmesi noktasında önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Bâkî Divanı’nda tespit edilebilen atasözü ve deyimleri alfabetik tasnifle vererek şairin atasözü ve deyim kullanımındaki çeşitliliğini ortaya koymak ve bunları gün yüzüne çıkarmaktır.
