Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine how the socialist power strategy of Egyptian leader Gamal Abd al-Nasser is discussed in Yön journal. In this context, Yön journal, which is one of the leading periodicals of Turkish political life in the 1960s as an intellectual movement and one of the dominant representatives of socialist ideology, constitutes the data source of the research. Within the scope of the study, all authored and anonymous articles of Yön, which included 222 issues, were examined. While conducting the examination, the study is methodologically based on document analysis. The obtained findings were evaluated with descriptive analysis method. As a result of this evaluation, it has been determined that the ways and methods adopted by the post-colonial Egypt under the leadership of Nasser were affirmed by Yöncüler in the world of thought as a power strategy.
