Abstract:

In this study, the Turkish Coffee, which was included in the Unesco list of non-specific cultural heritage in 2013, was tried to be assessed according to the principles of geography. Although Anadolu is not a climate-friendly plant, this drink, consumed in Turkey and registered under the name of the Turkish Coffee, is also located in the center of the daily rituals, traditions and traditions of the Turkish people. The most important feature that distinguishes Turkish Coffee from other similarities in the world, which has a history of about 500 years in the Anatolian territory, is that it is supplied with its plate and the cooking form is different from the other coffee. It is estimated that the hometown of today’s Ethiopia, the coffee arrived in Anadolu by religious servants in Mecca and Medina. The arrival to Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman state, is known by the Yemeni governor Özdemir Pasha. In many disciplines in social sciences, Turkish coffee has been studied. The Turkish Coffee, which contains many values of our common culture, enters the area of interest of human geography with its historical, behavioral and economic aspects. In the study, the Turkish Coffee was studied from the space and human perspective, which is the core element of geography. For this purpose, a document analysis of the quality research methods has been done, a broad literary work on the subject has been done. Parallel to the rapid increase in the consumption of coffee, which is an imported product, the plant coffee grown in the climate conditions of Turkey has also been found to be quite popular in recent years.
