Hemangiomas are benign tumours of the vascular endothelium and mucous membranes. Despite their common occurance in different areas of the body during the infantile period, hemangiomas of oral cavity especially in mucosa and gingiva are rarely seen. A 21-year-old male patient presented in this paper with a history of bleeding and a gradually growing mass in the gingiva. Patient’s intraoral examination revealed a raised, round, hyperemic, smooth-edged and blue-red pigmented mass of 7mm in diamater located on the right maxiller gingiva, near the second incisive teeth, including alveoler mucosa. After exicisional biopsy, the lesion was diagnosed as capillary hemangioma. Clinical control of the surgical region was completely normal. Management of hemangiomas and the treatment of choice depend on several factors including the age of patient and clinical charecteristics of the lesion, as well as their size and extent. Early detection and biopsy are necessary to determine the clinical behavior of the tumour and potential dentoalveolar complications.
