Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to analyze the consumption expenditure of the households residing in the province of Sırnak. The relationship between income and consumption will be examined and the individual spending flexibilities for 12 product groups will be calculated. The study will also seek answers to the question whether the Disability Act applies to the households living in the province of Sırnak. As it is known, the Barrier Act says that as the income level of consumers rises, the share of the budget allocated to food spending decreases. In the study, it will be revealed whether there is a similar situation in the sample. For this purpose, 382 households in the province were surveyed with the face-to-face method. Interesting findings have been found in face-to-face conversations and survey results. The flexibility of spending for each product group is calculated using regression analysis with the help of obstacle functions. The study revealed that as the income level increased, the share of food spending decreased. This means that the law is valid for the shrimp. In addition to the Barrier Act, flexibilities for all spending groups are calculated and goods are classified according to flexibility rates. One of the remarkable findings in the study is that transportation expenditure for access to health services has a significant contribution to the budget.
