Introduction: Food and Nutrition Education (EAN) reveals itself as a fundamental strategy for the promotion of health in the school space, as described in the literature. Objective: In this direction, this work aimed to carry out Food and Nutrition Education actions through workshops on food, nutrition and lifestyle in a public school located in the interior of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Method: It is a study of function performed with 411 schoolchildren, of both sexes, enrolled in elementary education. During the three-month period, fifteen EAN workshops were held with a whole school community, including: teachers, teachers, and students. Discussion: Observe changes in the schoolchildren's lifestyle as well as the involvement of the entire school community in the proposed actions. Conclusion: In this way, we conclude that a strategy was successful. And that this study aligns as EAN actions, programs and policies directed to the fight of childhood obesity in Brazil. Therefore, such actions should therefore be encouraged at the local level.
