Abstract:

It is known that the Manisa tissue, which has more than 600 years of history, was used in the interior clothes of the towns during the Ottoman era, and was even used as a shipping tissue in the Ottoman Navy. Especially with the industrial revolution, Manisa tissue, which began to lose its importance in the region, began to be re-produced in the 2000s. In the course opened by the Historic Manisa Bezi Textile Cooperative, new courses are taught textile every year and women are provided to make money with this job. Nowadays, Manisa gums, which are also touched by filet (senthetic) lines in addition to touching the cotton-pink mixture with wire in a traditional way, are produced in the textile workshop that is opened within the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality in addition to this co-operative. This workshop is also made in texture according to the same quality and thread characteristics, starting from ancient textile samples, and is offered for sale in different uses. In the article will be focused on the characteristics of the Manisa rubber, the work on re-production, the current situation, the technical characteristics, etc. The work on the re-production of the document will be explained.
