Abstract:

This study aims pointing out philosophical distortion that removes the human being from the center usage of behavior focused work security concept which is taken for granted in the academy and the labor market, with different arguments. Instead, the concept of behavior-based safety is proposed. In the study, it is explained that the concept of behavior based safety is in its original, but in its translation into Turkish, the use of the concept of work security instead of safety focuses on the work not the individual. Instead, it is argued that the concept of safety, which covers both the health and safety of the individual in the workplace, should be used. Similarly, it is explained that the word focus contains errors regarding both translation and individual's agency, and that it would be more appropriate to use the word based instead. While the article discusses the relevant concept; In addition to Turkish and English dictionary searches, it also emphasizes social class assumptions covering all working segments and the relevant literature and criticized the current effects of Taylorism, which is inspired by the oldest engineering approaches. Finally, in the story of the emergence of the behavior-based safety approach, it touches upon the relationship of the ABC analysis, which has its roots in the behavioral psychology movement, with the concept.
