OBJECTIVE: It is aimed to establish the susceptibility antibiotics and biofilm formation in community acquired nonfermentative Gram negative bacteria.METHODS: Forty nonfermentative-Gram negative (Twenty from each of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii) strains isolated from sputum, urine and wound samples were used. Identification made of conventional methods. Disk diffusion method was used to determine sensitivity to antibiotics.RESULTS: One of the most effective antibiotics was colistin, and only seven strains from each bacteria were found resistant. Gentamicin, ceftazidime and amikacin were other antibiotics more effective for P.aeruginosa, and tygecycline, gentamicin and amikacin for A.baumanniistrains.CONCLUSION: Biofilm formation was found only in one strain and so, any relation between biofilm formation and antibiotics resistance could not be established.
