The aim of this study is to analyze the cognitive structures of visual arts teacher candidates towards interdisciplinary art education and the links between the concepts in this structure through the concept map. The study group consists of Visual Arts teacher candidates studying at Faculty of Education, Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University. In the research, independent word association test (WAT) was used as a data collection tool to reveal the cognitive structures of the candidates towards interdisciplinary art education. A frequency table was created with the data obtained from the independent word association test. A concept map was drawn to reveal the pre-disciplinary cognitive structures of teacher candidates related to interdisciplinary arts education with the data recorded in the frequency tables. Thus, it is aimed to clearly reveal the relationships between the concepts of visual arts teacher candidates in their cognitive structures for different disciplines. As a result of the analysis, four disciplines that seemed almost unrelated to each other at 1st breakpoint emerged with concepts that showed a very complex relationship with each other towards 4th breakpoint. While the disciplines that constitute multi-field art education have a unique structure among themselves, it has been revealed that they constitute an intertwined whole among themselves.
