Objective: Attitude is a state of emotional and mental preparation, formed as a result of life and experiences, with the ability to direct or dynamically influence the behavior of the individual against all the objects and situations in which it is related. The behavior can affect the course of chronic disease. This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting the attitudes and attitudes of children with epilepsy. Method: Infants with epilepsy between the ages of 9 and 17 were taken into the universe. The research was carried out from 1 March to 30 June 2010 at the University of Ege School of Medicine Children's Hospital Pediatric Neurology Clinic and Behçet Long Children's Diseases and Surgery Education and Research Hospital Pediatric Neurology Clinic. Although the sample was requested to take all epileptic children between the ages of 9-17 who came to the hospital, 130 epileptic children were taken due to restrictions. In the study, the data was collected using the child’s promotional form and the child’s attitude to his own disease scale. In the assessment of data, the frequency criteria (medium, number and percentage distribution, standard deviation, standard error), the student t test in binary variables, the variance analysis in more than two variables were used. Results: 29.2 percent of the children involved were 9-10 years of age, 29.2 percent were 11-12 years of age, 60.8 percent were girls, 97.7 percent went to school, 94.6 percent suffered a generalized stroke, 29.2 percent were diseases in the first 5 years of age, 24. 6 of them suffered one or more attacks a month, 52.3 percent were taking the drug for 1-3 years, 91.5 percent were regularly taking the drug, and 73.1 percent were following the drug by their mother. The child’s attitude towards the child’s own illness is estimated at an average of 2.8±0.69. A statistically meaningful relationship has been found between the time of the disease's occurrence, the impact on the gameplay state and the level of knowledge about the disease and the attitude of the child towards the disease (p<0.05). Discussions: Epilepsy children’s attitude towards the disease has been found negative. The conclusion was that the relationship between the attitudes and attitudes of children towards the disease and the course of the disease was revealed by long-term observations and supported the children to develop a positive attitude towards the disease.
