Abstract:

Writing is one of the most important elements of communication. In the historical process of the Turkish Islamic art, when it comes to the relationship of writing with art, it seems that Hüsn-i line art has a great importance in the context of communication. This is why in the execution of the line art used primarily cotton pen, including paper, ink, hokka, cotton, cotton, cotton, cotton, cotton, divit, cotton, etc. It is possible to see the vehicles as the means of communication during the period. Therefore, the line-up boxes in the Ankara Etnography Museum, where these communication means that result in the writing of the text are preserved and hidden, are the subject of this text in the context of art and communication. With this study, we intended to present the scientific world by presenting the examples of the linear boxes that we have not found much in the publications at the Ankara Ethnography Museum. The Ankara Etnography Museum has a very rich collection of vehicles related to line art. The four line boxes in the collection are provided from the museum and have been studied in detail in terms of material, technical, form and decoration, compared with some examples in other museums. All of the works are made of wood. One of these four examples with a rectangular shape decorated with Kakma, double layer rolling and Edirnekâri (coloration) techniques is designed in the form of a thumbnail, and three in the form of a box. In the works, simple geometric motifs, different animal figures, naturalist plants, such as leaves and roses, as we see in nature, and Baroque-Rocco-style motifs come to us as an object of craving. They were found to be late-term Ottoman works, starting from the decoration characteristics of the samples that had no information about the production date, the place of production and the master of the manufacturer.
