Purpose: Nurses working in intensive care units, during the course of the course, carry out activities that require physical effort, such as lifting, pushing, turning patients with a much greater weight than their own weights. The aim of this study is to assess the relationship between the patient’s positioning activity from the repeated movements observed in nurses working in intensive care units according to the ergonomic risk analysis and the disorders of the muscle-skeletal system. Tools and Methods: The study was completed with 98 nurses working in five intensive care units of a state hospital through the use of the identifying information form prepared by researchers between February and April 2017 and the evaluation form of the REBA staff. The average age of nurses is 32.50±7. 3, the body mass index is 23.51, 46.9 percent of the third stage GYB, 29.6 percent of the second stage GYB, 9.2 percent of the coronary YB, 6.1 percent of the breast YB and 8.2 percent of the neurology YB. In our study, the nurses received an average score of 8.71 ± 1.74 (min) from REBA as a result of the body posture assessment in the positioning process they were in repeated movements. 5.00 to max. At 13.00 a.m., 63.3% of nurses were at high risk. Nurses with pain in the neck, shoulder area, back area and foot-foot knees have higher REBA scores (p<.05). The result: Most nurses working in intensive care have muscle skeletal problems. The use of beds / assistant devices that reduce the burden of nurses in the process of placing the patient in intensive care will be useful.
