In nursing, critical thinking is an important and necessary factor which independent of in clinical decision making and professionalization. In process of making accurate decision for clinical practices and in the solution of a variety of ethical issues encountered, critical thinking is essential to provide adequate, creative and effective nursing care needs. Nurses should develop the power of critical thinking in order to make clinical decision, to provide optimal patient care in consistent with the training they were given, to give more systematic care, to determine more complex needs in patient care, to cope with the nursing problems faced, to adapt novel developments and changes, and to solve the problems of 21st century. In this article, knowledge related to the effect of critical thinking on the process of clinical decision-making has been presented.
