Bu çalışmanın amacı Ar-Ge harcamalarının GSYİH içindeki payında meydana gelen artışların yüksek teknolojili ürün ihracatının toplam ihracat içindeki payı üzerinde bir artışa sebep olup olmadığını incelemektir. Oluşturulan doğrusal regresyon modeline ekonomik büyüme ve doğrudan yabancı yatırım girişinin GSYİH içindeki payı kontrol değişkeni olarak eklenmiştir. Yapılan çalışmada Panel Veri Analiz yöntemi (Sabit Etkiler Modeli) kullanılarak 15 OECD ülkesinin 1991-2016 dönemi yıllık verileri incelenmiştir. Analiz sonuçları Ar-Ge harcamalarının yüksek teknolojili ürün ihracatı üzerinde anlamlı ve pozitif bir etki yarattığını ortaya koymuştur. Ar-Ge harcamalarında oluşan %1’lik bir artışın yüksek teknolojili ürün ihracatında %3,5’luk bir artış meydana getirdiği görülmüştür. Dahası, kontrol değişkeni olarak analize katılan doğrudan yabancı yatırım girişi ve ekonomik büyüme değişkenlerinin yüksek teknolojili ürün ihracatı üzerinde herhangi bir etkisinin olmadığı görülmüştür.
The aim of this study is to examine whether the increase in R&D spending in GDP causes an increase over the share of high-tech product exports in total exports. The linear regression model created is added as the control variable of economic growth and the share of foreign direct investment in GDP. The study used the Panel Data Analysis Method (Sabit Effects Model) to examine the annual data of 15 OECD countries for the period 1991-2016. The results of the analysis have shown that R&D spending has a meaningful and positive impact on high-tech product exports. A 1% increase in R&D spending has resulted in a 3.5% increase in high-tech product exports. Furthermore, it has been shown that the direct foreign investment input and economic growth variables involved in the analysis as a control variable have no impact on high-tech product exports.
The purpose of the study is to examine whether the increase of share of R&D expenditures in GDP leads to an increase over the share of high technology product exports in total exports. In our linear regression model, we added the share of foreign direct investment inflows in GDP and economic growth variables to the study as control variables. In this study, we examined these variables with annual data for the period 1991-2016 for 15 OECD countries by using Panel Data Analysis method (Fixed Effects Model). The results of the analysis showed that R&D expenditures had a significant and positive effect on the export of high technology products. It was observed that a 1% increase in R&D expenditures caused a 3,5% increase in high-tech product exports. Further, we found that foreign direct investment inflow and economic growth variables included in our analysis as control variable has no effect on the export of high-tech products in selected OECD countries.
