Bu çalışmada Arap dili gramerinin öncülerinden İbn Hişâm en-Nahvî’nin (ö. 761/1360) gramere dair eserlerinde kullandığı tercih ve tenkit ifadeleri ele alınmıştır. İbn Hişâm birçok dil meselesi hakkında önceki dilcilerden ve dil ekollerinden nakillerde bulunmuş, herhangi bir ekole taassup derecesinde bağlı kalmamış, aktardığı görüş ve delilleri objektif bir yaklaşımla ele alarak etraflıca tartışmış ve bu görüşler arasında tercihlerde bulunmuştur. Kıyas ve ta’lil metodunu da kullanan müellif, hangi ekole veya dilciye ait olduğuna bakmaksızın delilini güçlü bulduğu görüş ve fikirleri tercih etmiş, zayıf veya isabetsiz gördüğü yaklaşımları ise tenkit ederek gerekçelerini ortaya koymuştur. Naklettiği görüşleri kendi içinde derecelendiren İbn Hişâm, tercihe şayan bulduğu görüşler için sahîh, râcih, savâb, zâhir tenkit edip terkedilmesi gerektiğini düşündüğü görüşler için de merdûd, bâtıl, fâsid, vehm gibi birbirinden farklı çok sayıda kavram kullanmıştır. Söz konusu kavramların bir kısmını müstakil anlamda kullanmış olmakla birlikte bazılarını yakın veya eş anlamlı olarak da kullanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, İbn Hişâm’ın başvurduğu söz konusu ifadeleri hangi anlamlarda kullandığını örnekler üzerinden dikkatlere sunarak onun tercih ve tenkit metodu ve diğer dilcilere karşı tutumu hakkında genel bir bakış açısı sunmaktır.

The author, who uses the method of curl and ta'lil, has preferred the opinions and ideas he finds strong, regardless of which school or prayer belongs, and the approach he finds weak or impeccable, has revealed his reasons by reflecting. In the words of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Some of these concepts have been used in a particular sense, but some have been used in a close or equal sense. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of his preference and method of reference and his attitude to other languages by presenting the attention through examples in which he uses the aforementioned statements he applies.
