Abstract:

The aim of this study is to identify the levels of depression symptoms and sociodemographic characteristics of the medical staff working in the surgeon, professional satisfaction, and the socio-demographic characteristics that affect them. Tools and methods: The sample of the study was made by a total of 230 people, including anesthetic doctors, surgeons, anesthetic technicians, who work at the Erzurum Regional Education Research Hospital and Ataturk University Medical School Hospital.In the study, the participants were asked to fill in the Sociodemographic Data Form, Maslach Extinction Scale(MTO), Minnesota Doyum Scale (MTO) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDE). Results: In the surgical staff working more than 60 hours a week, the Emotional Exhaustion (DT), Sensitivity (D) and Beck Depression Reserve (BDE) scores were significantly higher, Personal Success (KB) scores were lower.(p<0.05 )The DT, BDE and D points of employees at the University Hospital were significantly high.(p<0.05 )The DT and D scores of the doctors were high. (p<0.05) The employees found a positive relationship between BDE and MDÖ and KB scale points in a negative direction; the average points they received from DT and D subdimensions.by p<0. 05 ) Result: The assessment of the mental health and working conditions of the surgical staff, which is an unit under intense work pressure that requires effective, accurate and rapid intervention to the patients, will be beneficial in terms of improving the quality of service by reducing the work pressure and burden of the employees, by preserving their mental health and by improving their functionality. by n
