Abstract:

The study examined the opinions of pre-school teachers on STEM education. In the study, the status study was adopted from the quality research methods, the typical status sampling from the purpose sampling methods was used. The work group consists of 24 volunteer pre-school teachers working in schools located in the middle socio-economic region from the Ankara or Çankaya district during the 2018-2019 educational period. The study used a semi-configured "Conversation Form" prepared by researchers as a data collection tool. The data obtained was evaluated by content analysis from the quality data analysis methods. The research finds that teachers don’t know about STEM training, they define STEM training as a method. The teachers concluded that the scientific activities conducted supported the skills of the children’s scientific process, and that the scientific education was effective on learning because it was the activities conducted by doing life. According to the findings of the study, recommendations were made to increase the awareness of pre-school teachers about STEM education.
