Özet:

This study has been carried out to examine Miyase Sertbarut's novels in terms of values transfer. In this study, qualitative research method is adopted and document review tecnique is benefitted from. Values handled in works are carded after being determined. Researcher has read each novel three times to provide credibility. In addition, three certain novels have been read by five other specialists in Turkish language education. After comparing the values determined, they have been anaylsed in terms of frequency of occurence. The data examined, separately for each book, has been tabulated with the sentences and the page numbers they take place. Finally, the data has been made a graph after it was collected with "positive and negative" descriptions, which was in a meaningful and logical way as to how they were handled in the books. According to the findings of the study, positive description of value of love with a maximum of 132 frequency of occurence and negative description of value of honesty with 128 frequency of occurence have been seen in Sertbarut's eleven novels. Neither negative nor positive description of the value of independence hasn't been seen in the novels. The other values found are: justice, caring the unity of family, peace, scientificness, industriousness, solidarity, sensitivity, aesthetics, equality, freedom, respect, responsibility, saving, patriotism, helpfulness, friendship, self-control and patience. Based on these findings, it has been found that Miyase Sertbarut's eleven works that were examined have rich examples of transfering the values of love and honesty to children. For this reason, it is considered that these novels can be benefitted from upon transfering values to children.
