Sınıf Öğretmeni Adaylarının Matematik Dersindeki Ölçme ve Değerlendirme Tekniklerine İlişkin Görüşleri: Birleştirilmiş Sınıf Uygulaması Örneği

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı; sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının matematik dersindeki ölçme ve değerlendirme tekniklerine ilişkin görüşlerini birleştirilmiş sınıf uygulaması örneği aracılığıyla belirlemektir. Bu amaçla nitel araştırma deseni kullanılarak katılımcılardan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla veriler toplanmıştır. Katılımcılar, sınıf öğretmenliği lisans programına devam eden 12 dördüncü sınıf öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Veriler, içerik analizi ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın bulgu ve sonuçlarına göre, öğretmen adayları en fazla alternatif ölçme ve değerlendirme tekniklerini tercih etmişlerdir. Bu tekniklerden en çoktan aza doğru; performans görevi, drama, akran değerlendirmesi, kavram haritası, tanılayıcı dallanmış ağaç ve yapılandırılmış gridi tercih etmişlerdir. Geleneksel ölçme ve değerlendirme tekniklerinden ise en çoktan aza doğru; sözlü yoklama, boşluk doldurma, eşleştirme, açık uçlu soru ve kısa cevaplı soruları tercih etmişlerdir. Öğretmen adayları; öğrenci merkezli olması, süreci değerlendirebilmesi, öğrencilerin sorumluluk alması, iş birliğinin yapılabilmesi, sınıf mevcudunun az olması ve yeterli zamana sahip olması nedenleriyle alternatif ölçme ve değerlendirme tekniklerini seçmişlerdir. Bununla birlikte geleneksel ölçme ve değerlendirme tekniklerini de seçen öğretmen adaylarının tercih nedenleri; hazırlama sürecinin kolay olması, bütün sınıfın değerlendirilebilmesi, yeterli bilgiye sahip olma ve ders kitabında kullanılması olarak belirtmişlerdir

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of class teacher candidates on measurement and evaluation techniques in mathematics course through a combined class practice example. For this purpose, the data was collected from participants through a semi-configured interview form using the quality research scheme. Participants are composed of 12 fourth-class students who continue to the class teaching bachelor's program. The data is analyzed by content analysis. According to the findings and results of the study, the teacher candidates preferred the most alternative measurement and evaluation techniques. Most of these techniques have already been correct: performing task, drama, co-evaluation, concept map, recognizable dulled tree and structured grid. Of the traditional measurement and evaluation techniques, they have preferred oral elimination, emptiness filling, matching, open end questions and short answer questions. Teacher candidates have chosen alternative measurement and evaluation techniques for the reasons that they are student-centered, process assessment, responsibility of students, cooperation, less class presence and enough time. However, the reasons for the teacher candidates who choose the traditional measurement and evaluation techniques are: the process of preparation is easy, the whole class can be evaluated, sufficient knowledge and use in the curriculum.

The aim of this study is; to determine the views of Pre-service Primary Teachers on measurement and evaluation techniques in mathematics lesson through a multigrade class application example. For this purpose, data were collected from the participants through a semi-structured interview form using qualitative research method. Participants consist of 12 fourth grade students who are attending the primary school teaching bachelor program. The data were analyzed by content analysis. According to the findings and results of the study, pre-service teachers mostly preferred alternative measurement and evaluation techniques. From these techniques from the most to the lowest; they preferred performance task, drama, peer assessment, concept map, diagnostic branched tree and structural grid. From the traditional measurement and evaluation techniques, from the most to the lowest; they preferred oral exam, fill in the blank, matching, open-ended questions and short-answer questions. The pre-service teachers chose alternative measurement and evaluation techniques due to the fact that they are student-centered, can evaluate the process, students take responsibility, can make a cooperation, having a few class size and having enough time. In addition, the preference reasons of pre-service teachers who also chose traditional measurement and evaluation techniques; they stated that the preparation process is easy, the whole class can be evaluated, having sufficient information and using it in the coursebook.
