Abstract:

After the translation of the book ‘Being and Events’ in 2005 in English, contemporary thinker Alain Badiou, who attracted the interest of not only the continental Europe, but also the Anglosakson world, has gained popularity in our country over the years and has been the subject of political theory and academic studies. It can be said that these studies are largely focused on Badiou's political theory. Although Badiou's approach by academic environments is parallel to the diversity of his works, it is not surprising that his work focused on his political concept holds more numerous places in the summer. It can be said that the main reason for this situation is the systematic criticism that Badiou developed against all of the contemporary thinking flows. But more importantly, it is the idea that the thinker has the outcome of the idea of Communism that forms the spine of his work. Accordingly, the Badioucu philosophy sits on a materialist and dialectic ground, feeding from a tradition of Marxist, Leninist and Maocu, which is also the root of its political activism. As the most clear example of this position, it can be shown that Badiou, one of the creators of the theory, has stablely identified the concept of the event with the Communist Idea. In other words, the centrality of the concept of events in Badioucu thought only gets meaning when addressed with the Communist Idea. The main problem of this work is that point. It is impossible to think of the basic lines of Badioucu philosophy and political thought, feeding from the Communist Idea, independent of political history and action. In this context, the purpose of the article is to analyze the relationship with the revolution of the concept of events which Badiou defined as one of the processes of truth (and so far called the appearance of the political philosophy). In this regard, the basic argument of the article is that Badiou believes that the concept of the event is identical with the revolution. From this point of view, it is suggested that Badiou was a revolutionary thinker. To support this argument, the thinker’s work is questioned how the idea of revolution emerged, what it intended, and how it will happen with an organization. The article ultimately focuses on what this form of organization contains, ending with the argument that this model, which is sometimes called a mouth in summer, has a framework consistent with the entire philosophy of the thinker.
