Abstract:

The effects of Covid-19 on working life vary according to sectors, gender, age and job situation of the workforce. In this process, vulnerable groups in the labor market became even more fragile, and sectors where face-to-face interaction is intense and which have to be physically present at the workplace due to the measures taken in terms of health have become the most fragile sectors. In addition to the general employment losses, there were significant reductions in working hours. In the study, it is aimed to reveal whether the decrease in working hours, employment losses, the relationship and causes of vulnerability of sectors and groups, and whether the measures taken together with the changes in working life are sufficient. For this purpose, quantitative research method was used by making comparative data analysis within the scope of ILO (International Labor Organization), TÜİK (Turkish Statistical Institute) and İŞKUR (Turkish Employment Agency) 2020 - 2021. Measures taken for working life have been used effectively for both employees and employers. Although the measures taken for employers are sufficient and protective, the pandemic allowances given to their employees should be made more suitable for the conditions of the economic crisis.
