Cinsiyet eşitsizliği sosyo - kültürel, ekonomik, bürokratik ve politik hayatta bireylerin cinsiyetinin esas alınması ile yapılan ayrımın doğurduğu olumsuzlukları incelemektedir. Her bir bireyin cinsi kimliğinin dışında sadece insan olarak değerlendirilmesinin eşit fırsatlar sunulmasının temel hak olduğunun üzerinde durmaktadır. Çalışmada kadın ve erkek olarak biyolojik bir kavramı ifade eden cinsiyetin toplumsal ve geleneksel yapının etkisiyle kadının hayat içinde ikincilleştirilmesinin ekonomiyi olumsuz etkilediğine değinilmektedir. Çalışmada kadınların işgücüne katılımının ekonomik büyümeye katkısını belirlemek amacıyla Türkiye ekonomisi için gayrisafi yurtiçi hasıla, gayrisafi sabit sermaye oluşumu ve kadınların işgücüne katılım oranı değişkenleri, 2003:1 ve 2018:4 dönemi üç aylık verileri kullanılmıştır. Yapılan ekonometrik uygulama ile kadınların iş gücüne katılım oranının artmasının Gayri Safi Yurtiçi Hasıla üzerinde olumlu yönde etki yarattığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
Gender inequality examines the negative aspects of discrimination in the social-cultural, economic, bureaucratic and political life of individuals based on gender. It is based on the fact that, in addition to the gender identity of each individual, only being assessed as a human being is a fundamental right to be offered equal opportunities. The study pointed out that the influence of the social and traditional structure of the gender, which represents a biological concept as a woman and a man, has a negative impact on the economy. To determine the contribution of women’s participation in the labour force to economic growth, the non-profit domestic income for the Turkish economy, the non-profit fixed capital formation and the rate of women’s participation in the labour force variables, 2003:1 and 2018:4 period three months data were used. Econometric practice has concluded that the increase in the participation rate of women in labour has a positive impact on the Gayri Net Domestic Rate.

In this study, it is emphasized that the secondaryization of women in life with the effect of social and traditional structure of gender, which expresses a biological concept as men and women, affects economy negatively. In this study, to determine the contribution of female labor force participation to economic growth for Turkey's economy variables of gross domestic product, gross fixed capital formation and female labor force participation rate, 2003: 1 and 2018: 4 quarterly data were used. With the econometric application, female labor force participation rate increased it has a positive effect on Gross Domestic Product. was concluded.
