Abstract:

The poet of the National Anthem and II. Mehmet Akif Ersoy, one of the leading figures of the Islamic Union, one of the important currents of thought that emerged after the Second Constitutional Monarchy, as a man of letters and poets, has a vast knowledge of both Eastern and Western literatures within the framework of the possibilities of the period. In the most hopeless days of the War of Independence, he opened up bright horizons in front of our nation, and tried to explain to the people that our religion also rejected hopelessness with the sermons he gave at mosque platforms in various towns in Anatolia at that time. Mehmet Akif Ersoy's national struggle spirit and ideas are still felt today. Many institutions and organizations have been working on his effective founding function in the National Struggle Period. One of these institutions is Mardin Maturation Institute. This study was carried out in the form of introducing and evaluating the artistic features of the products made with the theme of Mehmet Akif Ersoy in the workshops operating within the aforementioned institute. In the study, the products produced in different workshops were discussed. These are stone carving, calligraphy illumination, silver filigree, embroidery and decorative arts workshops. After mentioning Akif's life, personality and art after the introduction, the products made in Mardin Maturation Institute about this important figure are mentioned in detail. In the evaluation section, the study was concluded with a brief conclusion by referring to the explanation of the features such as materials, techniques and ornaments used in the products within the framework of the Art History discipline.Keywords Mehmet Akif Ersoy, Naitonal Poet, Silver -Filigree, Stone Decoration, Embroidery
