Abstract:

The last quarter of the 19th century provides a special situation for the history of Eastern Turkistan. Yakup Bek, who was also in the service of the Hokand Hanlığı in the previous period, founded the Yedişehir State, known as the Kaşgar Emirate in Turkey and became an effective force in the region. In this article, it was tried to explore the relations between the Yedişehir State (Kashgar Emirate) and the Ottoman State during that period. During the Russian invasion in Western Turkistan, the Ottoman State, which was unable to provide the necessary assistance to the tribes here, rejected the demands of Yakup Bek and supported this state militarily and politically. However, the Yedişehir State has established political and trade relations with the Ottoman State as well as Russia and Great Britain. But the belief of the people and rulers of the Kashmir and Ottoman countries in the same religion, being members of the same soya, made these relations develop more intimate. Diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Istanbul have been established and through the embassy delegation from Kazakhstan to Istanbul, Yakup Bek has that he is subject to the Ottoman sultan. The Ottoman State also provided military assistance to the Yedişehir State with the delegation he sent to Kazakhstan. In our article we are trying to explore the relations between the two countries, we have taken advantage of archive documents as well as sources and research works.
