Abstract:

This research has been done to identify the mental conditions and influential factors of the students of the Department of Nursing of the University of Erzincan Health. The universe of the study was composed of a total of 180 students, but the study was done with 150 students because 30 students were unavailable for various reasons. The data of the study was collected between 2-6 May 2005 using the Information Form that contains the student’s indicative characteristics and the Validity and Trusted Mountains’ Spiritual Sign Screening Score (SCL-90-R), developed by Derogatis and his colleagues. In the analysis of data, percentage, t test, Pearson correlation, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskall Wallis and variance analysis were used. According to the study, the students are at the GSI (Spiritual Identification Level). The relationship between the age of students, the number of brothers, the status of problem sharing and the chronic disease is meaningful with the SCL-90R.
