Bugün yaşantımızın her anında yer alan plastikler neredeyse tüm ürünlerin içerisinde bulunmaktadır. Plastik üretiminde yaygın bir şekilde kullanılan Bisfenol A (BFA), östrojeni taklit ederek endokrin bozucu gibi davranıp insan üreme sağlığı üzerinde olumsuz etkilere yol açmaktadır. Bu çalışma, BFA’nın üreme sağlığına olan potansiyel etkisini Pubmed veri tabanı kullanılarak bugüne kadar yayınlanan insan temelli çalışmaları inceleyip değerlendirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. İncelenen literatür sonucunda BFA maruziyetinin ovaryan cevapta, in vitro fertilizasyon (IVF) ve fertilizasyon başarısında azalma, embriyo kalitesi ve sperm kalitesinde düşme, cinsiyet hormon konsantrasyonlarında değişme, erkek cinsel işlev bozukluğu, polikistik over sendromu (PCOS) ile ilişkili olabileceğini göstermektedir. Çalışmaların sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde, BFA maruziyetinin azaltılması (hazır ambalajlı ürünler, plastik kaplar vb. kullanımının azaltılması gibi) hastalıkların önlenmesinde koruyucu bir faktör olabilir. İnsan üreme sağlığı üzerindeki etki mekanizmalarını daha iyi anlamak ve erken aşamalardaki potansiyel üreme toksisitesini tespit etmek için ileri çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.
Plastics that are present at every moment of our lives are present in almost all products. Bisfenol A (BFA), widely used in plastic production, acts as endocrine disruptive by imitating estrogen and leads to negative effects on human reproductive health. This study was conducted with the aim of examining and evaluating the potential effects of BFA on reproductive health using the Pubmed database of human-based studies published so far. The reviewed literature shows that exposure to BFA in the ovarian response may be associated with a decrease in in vitro fertilization (IVF) and fertilization success, a decrease in embryonic quality and sperm quality, a change in gender hormone concentrations, male sexual function disorder, polycystic over syndrome (PCOS). When the results of the studies are evaluated, the reduction of exposure to BFA (prepared packaging products, plastic containers, etc.) It can be a protective factor in the prevention of diseases. Advanced studies are needed to better understand the mechanisms of impact on human reproductive health and to identify potential reproductive toxicity in the early stages.
