A Women’s Health Problem: Lower Urınary Tract Symptoms and Roles of Nurse

Women's health has an important role in healthy upbringing of new generations and therefore in the maintenance of community health. Ensuring the continuity of this important role increases the length as well as the quality of women’s life. One of the major health problems that adversely affect women's life quality is the lower urinary tract symptoms. Related to the physiological processes such as pregnancy and labor, together with structural and functional characteristics, lower urinary system specific symptoms are important health problems affecting the life quality of women today. Therewithal, most women do not consider these symptoms as a problem and therefore cannot receive the necessary care and treatment. Even if they are not expressed by women, nurses should be careful about these health problems and be aware of their own roles and responsibilities in this area. In this review, it is aimed to address the women specific lower urinary tract symptoms and the roles of women’s health nurses in these respects.
