Nowadays we often hear the phrase “The idea is more important in the art”. Over time, the elements such as the technique, the materials etc. have become “idea-oriented” and everything that we cannot make any sense out of has been named as art. The aesthetic judgements have changed during the process. As it happens in any other field of work, the changing dynamics undoubtedly created diversity in art. These dynamics still keep changing and transforming today, regardless whether they are appreciated or not. Well then, how does the idea in art develop in this process? This study examines how the idea in art has changed starting form Vasari's concept of “disegno” to kitsch.
