Tasarruf kavramı, gelir ile gider arasındaki olumlu fark şeklinde; yatırım kavramı gelecekte kullanılmak üzere bugünden fon ayırma işlemi şeklinde tanımlanmaktadır. Tasarruf imkânlarının yatırıma dönüştürülmesi, enflasyona karşı koruma sağlama, portföy değerini arttırma ve gelecekteki belirsizliklere karşı güvence oluşturma gibi avantajlar sağlamaktadır. Yatırımcıların, yatırım yapabilecekleri çeşitli enstrümanlar bulunmaktadır. Bu enstrümanlar, döviz, değerli metaller, hisse senedi, tahvil, mevduat, para ve sermaye piyasası araçları şeklinde sınıflandırılabilmektedir. Yatırımcılar, vermiş olduğu yatırım kararlarını risk algılarına göre vermektedir. Yatırımcıları döviz, borsa, kripto paralar gibi alternatiflerinin dışında, değerli metallere yatırım yapma imkânı bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışma, değerli metallerin getirileri arasında nedensellik olup olmadığının tespiti amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada yer alan değerli metaller, altın, gümüş, platin ve paladyum şeklindedir. Çalışmada elde edilen veriler, 01.01.2015-30.09.2021 dönemini kapsamaktadır. Çalışmada yöntem olarak Toda-Yamamoto kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, değerli metaller arasındaki nedensellik ve ilişkiler gösterilerek değerlendirilmiştir. Daha sonra gerçekleşecek çalışmalarda, değerli metaller arasındaki ilişkilerin, farklı analiz yöntemleri ve dönemler kullanılarak analiz edilmesi değerli araştırmacılara önerilmektedir.
The concept of saving is in the form of a positive difference between income and expenditure; The concept of investment is defined as the process of allocating funds today for use in the future. Conversion of savings opportunities into investments provides advantages such as protecting against inflation, increasing portfolio value and providing assurance against future uncertainties. There are various instruments that investors can invest in. These instruments can be classified as foreign exchange, precious metals, stocks, bonds, deposits, money and capital market instruments. Investors make their investment decisions according to their risk perceptions. Investors have the opportunity to invest in precious metals, apart from alternatives such as foreign exchange, stock market, and cryptocurrencies. This study was carried out to determine whether there is causality between the returns of precious metals. The precious metals included in the study are gold, silver, platinum and palladium. The data obtained in the study covers the period of 01.01.2015-30.09.2021. Toda-Yamamoto was used as a method in the study. As a result of the study, the causality and relationships between precious metals were evaluated by showing. In future studies, it is recommended to valuable researchers to analyze the relations between precious metals by using different analysis methods and periods.
