Abstract:

In the art life of Devrim Erbil, between the years 2010-2019, seven architectural structures belonging to the Early Ottoman Period and the Classical Ottoman Period and 12 paintings that were applied with the dual view technique were the subject of the study. In order to analyze the technical interpretation of the Selatin mosques or social complexes of the Ottoman period, studies were carried out in terms of architectural history, art history and painting. Original paintings were created by creating different perspectives by overlapping the plans or photographs of architectural structures with the dual view method of Erbil. In terms of architecture, it is important that the Ottoman masterpieces emphasize the domes in the cover system and carry them to their own paintings. In the study, the pictures of Hagia Sophia and the structures that are the works of the Ottoman period were analyzed from a dual point of view and the plans and photographs used were determined. By separating the images, it was determined where the emphasis was used in the painting and it was determined that the domes, which were the identity elements of the Ottoman architecture, were brought to the fore. It has been applied to the paintings by considering the use of color and toning in the covering system and the perspective in the plans and photographs. In the double view paintings of Erbil, the dominant structures in the development process of the dome architecture in the capitals of the Ottoman Empire were interpreted and processed into the paintings. Erbil has associated the imitative and experiential approach of modern art with the cultural heritage with the dual view technique.
