When the literature is examined, it is emphasized that the feeling of worthlessness felt or felt towards a person who is thought to be different for many reasons in social life will cause a stigma. Social stigma is stated that we divide the people around us into groups and categories socially with adjectives, a human image for each category is formed in our imagination, and we attribute the same characteristics to everyone we encounter from that category. The aim of this study is to measure the psychological stigmatization tendency of Bandırma in general with four factors. The first factor is discrimination and exclusion, the second factor is labeling, the third factor is psychological health, and the fourth factor is prejudice. 180 volunteers (86 women, 94 men) participated in the study. Participants' ages range from 18 to 43. The Stigma Scale developed by Yaman and Güngör (2013) was used as the data collection tool. The research results could not find a significant difference in terms of gender. However, significant data were obtained in terms of demographic variables of the discrimination-exclusion, labeling, psychological health, prejudice sub-scores of the stigma scale, age, marital status, education, occupational status and income. When the literature on stigmatization was examined, it was observed that studies were generally carried out on psychiatric patients. The fact that no research has been conducted in the studied literature in terms of Bandırma district will contribute to the literature. The results obtained from the research are important in terms of providing data in Bandırma scale. The results of the research were discussed in the light of the literature and suggestions for reducing stigmatization were presented.
