Artan enerji ihtiyacı ve buna karşılık giderek artan fosil yakıt rezervleri yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarına olan ilgiyi artırmaktadır. Enerji, tüm dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de önemli bir problem olarak ön planda bulunmaktadır. Günümüzde fosil kaynaklı yakıtların hızla tükenmesi ve bunların çevreye verdiği zararların artması gelecek nesillerin yaşamını büyük ölçüde tehdit etmektedir. Bu nedenle alternatif enerji kaynaklarına yönelmek kaçınılmaz bir gerçektir. Ülkemizde en önemli alternatif enerji kaynaklarından biri de biyodizeldir. Yapılan bu çalışmada; kullanılmış atık yağlarından biyodizel üretim yöntemleri, bu yöntemle üretilen yakıtın özellikleri ve kullanılabilirliği incelenmiştir. Ayrıca; ülkemizde tespit edilen kullanılmış bitkisel atık yağ miktarlarına bağlı olarak, üretilebilecek biyodizel miktarları hesaplanarak, bu süreçte oluşacak atık çamur miktarları tespit edilmiş ve elde edilen gliserol miktarları hesaplanmıştır
Increasing energy demand and consequently increasing fossil fuel reserves are increasing interest in renewable energy sources. Energy, like all over the world, is also an important problem in our country. Today, the rapid depletion of fossil fuels and the increased damage they cause to the environment threaten the lives of future generations to a great extent. For this reason, it is inevitable to turn to alternative energy sources. One of the most important alternative energy sources in our country is biodiesel. In this study; methods of biodiesel production from used waste oils, properties and usability of fuel produced by this method are examined. Also; depending on the amount of waste oil used in our country, the amount of biodiesel that can be produced is calculated, the amount of waste sludge to be formed in this process is determined and the amount of glycerol obtained is calculated.
