Genel olarak tarih öğretimi ya da sosyal bilgiler dersi içerisinde eriyik bir halde varlığını sürdürmeye çalışan yerel tarih alanı, günümüzde yaşadığımız çevrenin daha yakından tanınması ve özellikle bireylerin yakın çevresindeki tarihi eser ve kalıntılara duyduğu merakla giderek artan bir öneme sahiptir. Bu öneme binaen özellikle son yıllarda yerel tarih alanıyla ilgili pek çok çalışma yapılmıştır. Bu çalışma, sosyal bilgiler öğretiminde yerel tarih ögelerinin kullanımına ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerini Trabzon şehri kapsamında belirlemek için yapılmıştır. Bu amaç çerçevesinde nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması olarak yürütülen çalışma, 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Trabzon’da MEB’e bağlı okullarda çalışan öğretmenlerle yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunda 10 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni yer almaktadır. Araştırmada yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Bu verilerden temalar oluşturulmuş ve bu temalar cevaplarının sıklıklarına göre tablolarda belirtilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında toplanan verilerin anlaşılmasını kolaylaştırmak ve güvenirliğin artırılması için öğretmenlerin sorulara verdikleri cevaplardan doğrudan alıntılar yapılmış ve bu alıntılara tabloların alt kısmında yer verilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen verilere göre, araştırmaya katılan sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin tamamı yerel tarih öğretiminin sosyal bilgiler dersi kapsamında kullanılması gerektiğinin altını çizmiştir. Öğretmenlerin yerel tarih öğretimiyle alakalı herhangi bir kursa katılmadıkları araştırma kapsamında tespit edilmiş ve Trabzon kentine ait yerel tarih ögelerinin öğrencilere aktarılması gerektiği fikri öğretmenler tarafından aktarılmıştır. Öğretmenler ayrıca Trabzon tarihinde önemli yer tutan ve öğrencilere öğretebileceklerini düşündükleri tarihi; şahsiyet, olay, mekân ve dönemler hakkında birçok farklı yorumda bulunmuşlardır.
In general, the local historical area, which is trying to maintain its existence in the course of history or social information, has an increasing importance with the closer recognition of the environment we live today and with the curiosity that individuals hear about historical works and remains in their close surroundings. There have been many studies on this area, especially in recent years. This study was done to determine the teachers' views on the use of local history subjects in social information teaching within the Trabzon city. The work conducted as a state study of the quality research patterns in the framework of this goal was conducted with teachers working in schools associated with MEB in the 2018-2019 educational year in Trabzon. The research group includes 10 social information teachers. In the study, a semi-configured interview form was used. The data obtained was analyzed through the content analysis method. Themes are created from these data and these themes are listed in the tables according to the frequency of answers. To facilitate the understanding of the data collected within the framework of the study and to increase reliability, direct quotes were made from the answers the teachers asked questions and these quotes were placed at the bottom of the tables. According to the results of the study, all the social information teachers involved in the research indicated that local history teaching should be used within the social information course. The idea that teachers did not participate in any course related to local history teaching was identified in the framework of the research and the idea that local history objects of the city of Trabzon should be transmitted to students was transmitted by teachers. Teachers have also made many different comments on the date they think they can teach students, which holds an important place in the history of Trabzon; personality, event, place and periods.
