Abstract:

One of the most important motivations of the festival participants is cultural interaction. The festival satisfaction of the participants is of great importance in terms of the festival’s sustainability, influencing the return and advice trends. The purpose of the research is to determine the dimensions of cultural interaction that festival participants perceive and to reveal the relationship between cultural interaction and festival satisfaction. A scale has been developed in line with this goal and is implemented to the participants of the 2019 Silifke International Music and Folklore Festival. The results of the face-to-face survey have reached 449 valid survey data. The data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS program and according to the factor analysis results, the cultural interaction that the festival participants perceive was found to consist of the dimensions of "Cultural Transmission", "Cultural Protection", "Cultural Change" and "Cultural Balance". The majority of the participants are young people under the age of 30. It is also found that the level of satisfaction of the participants increases as the level of education increases. The study found that the levels of cultural interaction of participants vary in terms of age and education levels and that there was a positive relationship between the levels of cultural interaction of participants and the festival satisfactions.
