Abstract:

The strength training has as finality the increase of muscular strength, improves or quality assurance of the technical gesture, for both these objectives to be achieved, makes it necessary a perfect interaction between the intervening variables for strength gains, intensity, volume, density and the interval of rest between series. The aims of this research were analyze the behavior of the muscular strength, during one series of physical exercises on the Leg Press, and on the Bench Press in different intervals of rest. For that, the sample was composed by 19 male individuals, who practice bodybuilder, with age of 22,4 ± 3,8 years old. For the comparison of the measures, the number of repetitions, as the rest interval the test was used paired T, assuming p≤0,05. For a correlation analysis between the repetitions done in the superior members and inferiors, was done a person correlation test. Observing the loss of strength in the exercise done in the Bench Press was verified a decrease of 48,14% from the first to the second series and for the exercise inthe Leg Press 45° a decrease of 39,14. In this present study the repetitions tended to decrease as the rest interval would decrease starting from the exercise’s second series.
