Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Psikolojik Sağlamlığının Yordayıcısı Olarak Benlik Saygısı ve Çeşitli Demografik Değişkenlerin İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı psikolojik sağlamlığın yordayıcısı olarak benlik saygısı ve çeşitli demografik değişkenlerin incelenmesidir. Nicel araştırma yaklaşımına dayalı olarak tasarlanmış olan bu çalışma Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Üniversitesi ve Avrasya Üniversitesi’nin çeşitli programlarında Psikoloji, Psikolojik Danışma ve Rehberlik, Sosyal Hizmet, İktisat, İlahiyat, Spor Yöneticiliği öğrenim görmekte olan 348 üniversite öğrencisiyle kadın=212, erkek=136 gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada Doğan 2011 tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanmış olan İki Boyutlu Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği ile Doğan 2015 tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanan Kısa Psikolojik Sağlamlık Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler, ilişkisiz örneklemler için t-testi, tek yönlü ANOVA ve çoklu regresyon analizi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, benlik saygısının boyutları olan kendini sevme ve öz yeterliğin psikolojik sağlamlığı anlamlı şekilde açıkladığı belirlenmiştir. Demografik değişkenlerden olan cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, öğrenim görülen program, öğrenim görülen programın ruh sağlığı alanında olup olmadığı, not ortalaması ve kardeş sayısının ise psikolojik sağlamlığın anlamlı birer yordayıcısı olmadığı saptanmıştır

Self-respect as a contributor to the psychological well-being of university students and the review of various demographic variables

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study self-respect and various demographic variables as a contributor to psychological stability. This study, which is designed on the basis of the Nicel research approach, was carried out in the various programs of the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University and the University of Eurasia with 348 university students who are studying Psychology, Psychological Consultancy and Guidance, Social Service, Economics, Theology, Sports Management with women=212, men=136. The study used the short psychological well-being scale adapted to Turkey by Nagan 2011 with the two-dimensional self-respect scale adapted to Turkey by Nagan 2015. The data obtained from the study was analyzed with t-test for unrelated samples, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. The research finds that the dimensions of self-esteem are self-love and self-sufficiency that significantly explain the psychological stability. The demographic variables are gender, class level, study program, whether the study program is in the field of mental health, and the score average and the number of brothers are not a meaningful contributor to psychological stability.

The aim of this study was to investigate self-esteem and various demographic variables as predictors of psychological resilience. This study, which was designed based on a quantitative research approach, was conducted with 348 university students female=212, male=136 studying at various programs of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University and Avrasya University Psychology, Psychological Counseling, and Guidance, Social Work, Economics, Theology, Sports Management . Two-Dimensional Self-Esteem Scale adapted to Turkish by Doğan 2011 and the Brief Resilience Scale adapted to Turkish by Doğan 2015 were used in the study. The data obtained from the study were analyzed by independent-samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. As a result of the study, it was determined that self-liking and self-competence, which are the dimensions of self-esteem, explained psychological resilience significantly. Gender, grade level, department, whether the department was in the field of mental health, and the average grade and number of siblings were not significant predictors of psychological resilience
