Tibet; Çin Halk Cumhuriyeti’ne bağlı, yüksek bir plato üzerinde yer alan, soğuk, ulaşılması ve yaşanması zor özerk bir bölgedir. Halk konar göçer olmakla birlikte, coğrafi koşullardan dolayı dışarıya kapalı, soyutlanmış bir yaşam sürmektedir. Çin’in siyasi ve kültürel etkisi altında olmasına rağmen kendine has köklü bir geçmişi vardır. Konar göçer yaşamın ve kaliteli yünün elde edilebildiği yüksek bir plato üzerinde olmasının sonucu olarak burada halı dokumacılığı gelişmiştir. Çin halıları ile birbirlerine benzeyen bölge halıları özgün düğüm tekniği ile ayrı bir grubun içine dahil olurlar. Bu halılar; figürlü, madalyonlu, serpme desenli ve desensiz olmak üzere dört temel kompozisyona sahiptir. Desen elemanlarında Budist etkiler görülmektedir. Bu makalede Tibet halıları ile Anadolu halıları arasındaki ortak ve benzer motifler tespit edilmiştir. Ejder, çintemani/kaplan beneği, hayat ağacı, lotus çiçeği, nar, bulut, svastika ve geçme motifi ile dama tahtası deseni Tibet halılarında olduğu gibi Anadolu halılarında da görülmektedir. Asya’dan Avrupa’ya uzanan İpek Yolu’nun bu etkileşime sebep olduğu düşünülmektedir. İpek Yolu sayesinde sadece ticari ilişkiler kurulmamış aynı zamanda Asya’dan Avrupa’ya kültürlerin, inançların, orduların ve bilginin aktarımı gerçekleşmiştir. Ayrıca konar göçer Türklerin eski inançlarından birinin Budizm olması, iki toplum arasındaki kültürel etkileşimi kuvvetlendirmiştir. İpek Yolu aracılığı ile kültür kanalları açılmış, simge ve anlamlar Anadolu halılarına yansıyarak bu makalede konu edilen motif ortaklıklarına sebep olmuştur.
Tibet is an autonomous region of the People's Republic of China, located on a high plateau, cold, difficult to reach, and inhabitable. Besides the people are nomadic, they live a closed and isolated life due to geographical conditions. Although it is under China's political and cultural influence, it has its own deep-rooted history. As a result of nomadic life and being on a high plateau where quality wool can be obtained, carpet weaving has developed here. Tibetan carpets are similar to Chinese carpets. They are included in a separate group with their unique knotting technique. These carpets have four main compositions: figured, medallion, sprinkle pattern, and unpatterned. Buddhist influences are seen in the pattern elements. In this article, common and similar motifs between Tibetan carpets and Anatolian carpets have been identified. Dragon, çintemani/tiger spot, tree of life, lotus flower, pomegranate, cloud, swastika and cross motif and checkerboard pattern are seen in Anatolian carpets and Tibetan carpets. It is thought that the Silk Road extending from Asia to Europe caused this interaction. The Silk Road enabled the development of trade and the transfer of religions, armies, knowledge, and cultures from east to west. In addition, the fact that one of the old beliefs of the nomadic Turks was Buddhism strengthened the existence of familiar cultural figures and elements between the two societies. In conclusion, cultural channels led by the Silk Road were opened from the Tibetan Plateau to Anatolia, and the symbols and meanings were reflected in the carpets woven in Anatolian lands, resulting in motif commonalities that we can focus on today.
