Abstract:

Introduction and Purpose Research was conducted in order to determine the perception of the dismissal plan of nurses working in the intensive care unit. The data of the research in the identifying quality were collected with the talks with the 332 nurses who agreed to participate in the research working in the intensive care units of the Seven Education Research Hospitals, two Special Hospitals and one University Hospital, associated with the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate from 04.05.2011 to 04.05.2011 after the required institution permissions and ethical council approval were received. The data was collected using the "Information Form" created by the researchers by studying the relevant literature and the "Intense Planning Perception Scale" of the Heavy Care Unit Nurses. In the assessment of the data obtained from the study, the number, percentage, average, standard deviation, the Kruskal Wallis analysis, the one-way variance analysis in independent groups (Oneway Anova test), the t test in independent groups were used. The findings found that Nurses' intensive care unit dismissal plan total perception points varied from 22 to 64 and the average perception points were 41.26 6.58 . According to the age, gender, educational status, time of work as a nurse and time of work in intensive care, there was no statistically significant difference between the average perception points of the dismissal plan. It was determined that its mission in the intensive care unit was statistically significantly different according to the status of participation in service training programs for intensive care nursing and the status of actively participation in the process of departure planning in the intensive care unit. As the level of finding important the departure planning in the intensive care unit of nurses increased, the perception of departure planning in the intensive care unit also increased in a positive direction. Discussions and Results According to the Study Results; the perception of the dismissal plan of the intensive care nurses was found at a medium level. Therefore, it is recommended that the certification of the nurses by reviewing the program of certification for intensive care nurses in terms of the process of departure planning, which will have a positive impact on the perception of the departure plan and will increase the quality of the training programmes within the service and the certification of the programmes for intensive care nurses.
