Abstract:

The 15th and 16th centuries have an important place in the history of the literature of the Turkic peoples of Central Asia. During this period, such literary figures as Alisher Navai, Huseyn Baygara, Zahiraddin Babur, Mohammad Sheybani, Mohammad Salih grew up in Chagatai literature. At the end of the 15th century, the Timurids in Central Asia were very weak, so the struggle for the throne intensified. Sheybani khan of Uzbek origin was especially distinguished in this case. He established the Sheybani state and tried his best to expand the borders of this state. Sheybani khan was not only a brave commander, but also a poet of beautiful inspiration. His collection of poems has survived to this day.Sheybani khan gathered masters of words and poets around him. One of the poets in his palace was Muhammad Salih. Muhammad Salih took part in all the military campaigns of the ruler and recorded his bravery. The poet's poem "Sheybaniname" is dedicated to this ruler and his victories on the battlefield. Only one copy of the poem "Sheybaniname" consisting of 4447 verses written in aruz has survived. The only manuscript of the Sheybaniname, copied in 1510, is kept in the Austrian National Library in Vienna. Despite the fact that it is an example of classic literature, the language of this work is simple and readable. Taking into account its literary significance, we have translated this valuable example of the classical Chagatai literary language from the original into our language and prepared it for publication.
